I've never met a reception manager quite like him. He was fantastic, warm, and welcoming, and even carried my very heavy bag upstairs despite his advanced age. The room was great and had everything you could ask for at that price. If you're a good guest, he might even give you special treatment!

This hotel has no staff on site, and if anything goes wrong, it can become a nightmare. I stayed in February/March last year. Around midnight I went out to get a drink, then couldn't get back in because my phone was in the room and the coded entry system had locked me out. There was no one to help, and the emergency number didn't answer. I waited an hour in the middle of the night and even called the police and city workers, but nobody could do anything. I had to pay another €80 for a different hotel. Operating without 24/7 help is unacceptable. Imagine if this happened to someone vulnerable. Don't take the risk, avoid this place!

The hotel is falling apart. First the balconies, and now the window frames? Watch out, it's very dangerous. There's a mothball smell that seems meant to hide damp and mold on the walls. The ceilings are covered with material that catches fire, and there are no emergency exits. This is extremely dangerous. Just wait until we hear about a tragic incident. It's a real slum landlord's place. How do people get tricked into staying here? It's a proper trap, whatever the man at reception thinks. The safety situation is seriously dangerous, like a knife alley. The price isn't justified, so really avoid it, especially when they raised rates during the cycling race. This is a real rip-off! How can the Préfecture let this hotel open? RUN AWAY!

The only decent part was the reception staff, who were smiling and polite when they were actually there. Otherwise, I can't understand the positive reviews unless I had unbelievably bad luck and the other rooms are great. I wouldn't bet on that. Room 19-20, booked through the website, had misleading photos and was in a deplorable state. There were no bed linens, with both the mattress protector and fitted sheet missing. We could only reach someone at reception when we arrived on Friday, and then couldn't get help to sort it out. The floor was filthy with crumbs, dust, and grime. There were heaps of it behind the furniture and radiators, and dirt stayed underfoot. Who knows when it was last cleaned? The bathroom was worst: ingrained dirt in the sink and shower, clogged drains, stagnant water, and hair left by previous guests spilling out. The door wouldn't close properly and was wobbly, and the plasterboard walls were crumbling and soft. I would've rather not had to use the bathroom during my stay. This place doesn't deserve its three stars, let alone the price. Avoid it.
