I was trying to book dates in April, but Booking.com defaulted to the current date, so I accidentally booked two nights starting that same day instead of two months later. The hotel's policy said I couldn't cancel with less than 24 hours' notice. I called immediately, within two minutes of making the booking, to explain the mistake and ask to move it to April. The first receptionist showed no care or compassion and refused to change the dates or refund me. When I asked for a manager, she spoke to someone out of earshot and then hung up. I called back. The second woman confirmed she'd told her colleague to hang up, and also refused a refund. I asked to cancel the second night, which was still more than 24 hours away. She said that would be possible and agreed to email confirmation that the refund would be processed, but no email arrived. They charged the full amount for both nights. Booking.com customer service was no help and couldn't reach the hotel, and the hotel never answered any of my messages. The service was completely unprofessional. Based on my experience, I urge people to take their business elsewhere. The management showed no professionalism, humanity, or empathy. Other reviews describe similar problems with the management and staff, calling them uncaring and deeply unpleasant. It seems to go deep. I expect their response to this review will be just as vile and dismissive. Stay expecting no help if anything goes wrong.
