Hôtel Cardinal

My wife and I stayed here while touring Normandy, and it was a fantastic visit. We were right across the street from Cathedral Notre Dame de Rouen, and the hospitality was amazing. I highly recommend this hotel.

We couldn’t get onto the free Wi-Fi, and getting help at reception was frustrating. We rang the bell for a long time before anyone answered and gave us the code. The front desk service felt unreliable. There was no air-conditioning, either. The room was small and a bit dirty when we arrived. Both bathroom cups were dirty, there were a few little hairs by the sink and on the table, and one towel was moldy. Bird residue covered the balcony so badly we couldn’t step out onto it.

We enjoyed watching people from the balcony over the cathedral square, with plenty of good restaurants and shops an easy walk away. The room’s view was outstanding, and in summer there was even a free light show on the cathedral at night. It’s a lovely little hotel, centrally located, very clean and comfortable, with a delicious breakfast. We had a wonderful visit.

We had a superior room overlooking the cathedral, and the view was amazing. We could watch the full moon rise above the spires. The room was spotless and crisp without being fussy, and the dining room for breakfast felt charming and warm. What a lovely place. Merci, Madame!
