The breakfast buffet was incredible, and the hotel itself is lovely. I was cycling during my stay, and the woman working there was so kind about helping with my bike. She even suggested a route for my next ride, which I tried and loved. I’m convinced she’s the loveliest, most beautiful person in France. A thousand thanks to her. I’d happily stay here again.

Step outside this lovely little hotel and there’s a row of good restaurants right there. It sits in a gorgeous spot above the marina in Royan. If you’re driving onward, the BAC to Verdon is just two minutes away, with Bordeaux beyond.

Our room on the town side was bright in the evening sun, cosy, and quiet, though it didn’t have a balcony. The sea view rooms do have balconies and face the sunrise. We spent three nights at Brit'Hotel Royan and found the staff welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The rooms are comfortable, with modern bathrooms and tea and coffee facilities. Parking nearby is free and easy, which made things relaxing. Breakfast was good, with fresh filter coffee as well as coffee from a machine. The hotel is in central Royan, near the shops, restaurants, covered market, and the 1950s church rebuilt after the war. The market is well worth a weekday visit, from Wednesday through Sunday morning. I strongly recommend the hotel.
