The manager was lovely, and we got a warm welcome. It’s a small, pleasant hotel, quiet outside, with comfortable bedding and a very clean shower and toilet. I recommend it.

Royan is easy to explore from here, and the location also works well for trips along the Atlantic coast or inland. The hotel sits among the town’s main shopping streets, close to the lively beach and marina areas, with very affordable rates. It’s family-run, and Roberto was attentive to guests. They keep costs down in part by offering extra beds for big families or young people on a budget. The building has the character of post-war coastal construction in a town devastated during the war and facing the ocean, which gives the setting an old-world charm. The common room doubles as a cozy breakfast space, serving a continental spread with cheese, ham, and mortadella. Alberto also made us delicious crepes. Our room was comfortable, quiet, and had all the amenities. I recommend it.

I can’t recommend this hotel. The staff were unwelcoming, and the lack of professionalism was clear.
