Val was a wonderful host: she brought us ice cream, cold beer and water in the sun, and even bought a croquet set to meet our English needs. She was helpful without being overbearing, and very patient with our terrible attempts at French. Breakfast included her homemade bread, yoghurt and jams. There’s also a shared kitchen and a small but well-stocked shop a 30-minute walk away in Ruch, and Val sells wine at very reasonable prices. The house, pool and view are beautiful, and it’s so tranquil. We loved our five days here and wish we could have stayed longer. My mother had a knee injury and couldn’t walk, so we came without a car hoping for a proper rest. Val was initially a little shocked by our plan. My sister and I did some incredible walks through vines and hills, with stunning buildings for miles. The nearby towns are beautiful, and the wine from this region is sensational. There’s not much around, though, so you really need a car unless you’re happy to hike each day or do nothing. Only tip: bring mosquito repellent. I’d recommend the place 100%.

If you want a beautiful, quiet spot to unwind, this is perfect. We loved being surrounded by nature, and there’s a lovely swimming pool as well. The rooms have lots of charm, and breakfast was simple but delicious.

Our 3y old and we got the warmest welcome. The rooms are beautiful, modern and comfortable, with lovely little details, and the dog is the biggest and nicest. The charming garden even has a fallen tree. You’re among vineyards near Saint Emilion and Sauveterre. We absolutely recommend staying here!

This chic, comfortable house made for an excellent stay. The hosts are super nice and gave us a warm welcome. A tucked-away spot right in the middle of the grape vines.
