Everything we needed was nearby, since the hotel is right in the city center. The staff were excellent and helped us with whatever we needed. Our room was clean and had what we needed, though the heater wasn't working and it got a little cold.

The shower was really nice, and breakfast was a good start to the day. The bed was OK too. It did what we needed, so what more could you ask for?

A lovely little town nearby, and you can take the bus into Paris. The hotel is also close to French supermarkets and shops.

The shower door opens inward, and if you're larger like me, there's no way to get in unless you're very, very skinny. The hotel itself was mediocre.

Even after I sent photos of the problems, I was first told I was exaggerating. The staff acknowledged the issues when they saw the pictures, and I eventually received a refund, which I appreciated. The room had visible stains, hair, dust, and mold in several places, and it looked nothing like the photos. It also wasn't ready when I arrived, despite check-in being listed from 3pm, so I waited another 30 minutes while it was cleaned. My stay at Hôtel Le Cardinal was frustrating and far below what I expected. At this price, a clean room, an accurate description, and respectful treatment should be the bare minimum. Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend it.
