Ibis Rungis Aéroport Paris Orly Hotel

After the first night, we found bed bugs moving around the room. There was mold above the windows, cold air came through the badly sealed windows, and the thermometer didn't work. From the second day on, renovation work upstairs meant drilling constantly from 9:30am until midnight for the rest of our stay. We were there for four nights with four guests, sharing a room with two queen beds, but were given only two quilts. Reception didn't understand English when we asked for two more. The dark, run-down halls were unpleasant, the elevator sometimes didn't work, and both key cards stopped working after day three. If you're visiting France, this isn't where I'd stay.

The rooms were old, and the renovations were noisy, but the real problem was feeling unsafe. There were no extra inside locks to stop someone with a key from entering. Hotel staff came into my room four times without knocking, three times supposedly to clean and once to fix something. The first three visits were at 11, 15, and 18. After I raised it with reception, the receptionist didn't even pretend to apologize and said they'd talk to the staff. Someone still came in a fourth time. When I told them it was the third time and they had to stop, they shut the door, then I heard them laughing outside. Later, reception blamed me for not putting a tag outside the door. The issue wasn't whether they asked if I wanted service, it was that they kept barging in without warning.

The free shuttle and the hotel's closeness to the airport were the main positives. The restaurant was mediocre and expensive. We had a huge room with a nice bed, but nowhere to sit, no chairs or couch. We asked for help with a shower and tub problem twice, and nobody came.

For the price and star rating, this was disappointing. The heating didn't work in January, the door cards failed, and the bath plugs didn't work properly. The small gym was completely broken and had no equipment.
