Saint Roch

Amazing service, and the food was really good.

The courtyard had an overflowing septic tank, and the room was freezing because the radiator was too small. The porthole window had single glazing and was partly covered by a calendar. There were leaks, no bathroom light, and no heating. A power strip in the hallway was being used for Wi-Fi. The place was filthy. Very disappointed.

We had to pay before we were even shown the room, and when we chose to leave instead of staying there, the manager wouldn't refund us. I even think we should have filed a theft report. I did file a complaint with the DGCCRF (French Directorate General for Competition Policy, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control). The place was old, cold, and unsanitary, and the service was awful. The staff were incredibly dishonest. A disgrace to the industry. Avoid it at all costs!

The comfortable bed and TV were welcome, and the rooms are pretty large for the price. Still, they feel downright creepy, with awful insulation, old windows, and cobwebs everywhere. Even with the heating on, we were cold. The welcome was lacking for a hotel, as there's no reception desk, though the staff were very friendly. The food is more snack bar than restaurant, just precooked items, and the desserts aren't very tasty. If you want an affordable place to sleep without going hungry, it could work. For a good time, look elsewhere.
