The hotel is clean and pleasant, and the reception staff are friendly, especially the women. Its location is ideal if you're visiting a student at HEC paris, but otherwise it's a long way from everything. I took off a star because I needed shampoo one evening and called room service. Since it's in a refillable tube, the receptionist told me nobody could refill it until the next morning. That seemed very strange and unacceptable, and they should change that. Breakfast also gets dull, especially over a week-long stay like mine. It needs more variety.

The air conditioning was broken, so we had to borrow a small heater from reception. The whole stay felt disrespectful and badly handled. At 10am, two hours before the 12 am checkout, a cleaning lady opened our door without knocking. About half an hour later, another woman knocked and spoke French to us. Also, shouldn't reception staff be able to speak English at an international hotel, especially one right in front of an international business school? Terrible hotel, totally amateur and unprofessional.

They clearly let you know that the restaurant is closed on Friday evenings, but you can still get one of three tasty pizzas at the bar. The staff were very friendly, and it was especially nice for bikepacking that I could leave my bike in my room.

This was in Avranches, France, and well worth a stop. The scribes of Mont Saint-Michel and Avranches had some kind of partnership in making illuminated manuscripts.
