In summer, you can relax under the trees in the grounds or on the terrace, which has a table, chairs, and a hammock for dining and unwinding. In winter, the living room fireplace makes for a cozy, romantic evening. La Maison d'en face sits within the castle grounds but is completely independent. It's right in the village, in the Haut Languedoc Regional Natural Park, with abbeys, hiking trails, and the Cathar castles route just a few kilometers away. We got a warm welcome from a friendly host. Highly recommended.
