Domaine de Rilhac

I only ate at the restaurant and didn't stay overnight. The meal was excellent, and the view across the Ardèche mountains made the setting superb.

The restaurant, La Table de Fred, was a lovely part of our stay. We ate there in the evenings, and the food was simple, excellent, and made with local produce. Our host and the woman working there at the time were both so welcoming, which made the whole visit feel complete. We came away with a very fond memory and would happily return or recommend it. We stayed for a few days in early September. The hotel sits in beautiful surroundings, with peace and quiet indoors and out, apart from birds and owls if you enjoy those sounds of nature. Our room was spacious and had all the amenities. The bed was the one small issue, but after we mentioned it, they agreed it needed replacing, and it was replaced. It's a good base for walking and for visiting other places in Ardèche and nearby Haute-Loire. There are lovely landscapes to explore.

After eating outside, we had coffee in a little outdoor lounge area. The setting was lovely, the welcome very warm, and the staff friendly. The fresh, high-quality ingredients were delicious and reasonably priced, so we had a very pleasant time. Reservations are strongly recommended, since fresh ingredients are bought according to what's available.

The meal was excellent and quite elaborate, with flavorful, high-quality ingredients, including filet mignon with a whole peach. Fred was friendly, patient, and quick to respond to requests. The location is exceptional, with a great view, real tranquility, and a building designed to make the stay feel unique. Our room was large and had a view, but it was basic, with no hot drinks and an old-fashioned bathtub. Breakfast was a very basic French one.
