Gîtes Domaine de la Barnerie

We rented the whole estate for a weekend with friends and had a superb stay. The pool is heated, and the communal area has everything for meals and relaxing: a pool table, foosball, bar, reading corner and board games. The property is beautiful and very well kept, including both the shared spaces and cottages. The owners are friendly and helpful.

We really liked being able to arrive and leave on any day of the week, which let us avoid the road traffic. The park is beautifully laid out and clean, and the owners are super friendly. From the park, there are lovely walks, and the quiet village is nice. The pool is clean and refreshing, and the bar opens at four for a delicious, cool rosé. There’s plenty to see and do nearby. We stayed in the six-person house with six adults. There was lots of room inside, though the terrace felt a bit small, and it stayed hot there for a long time in warm weather. Maybe a fan on the terrace would help. The house is well equipped, and the air conditioning was very welcome during the hot Ardèche days. A great choice if you want a quieter holiday with some comfort and a pool close by.

The gîte was spotless, comfortable and had everything we needed. The pool, with its mountain views, was pure bliss, and the on-site electric bike rental was a real bonus for exploring the area. We came to Domaine de la Barnerie in a panic after an unexpected problem forced us to book a last-minute 15-day stay. We were disappointed not to be able to stay where we’d originally booked, and arrived feeling a bit down. Romain’s warm welcome and good humor soon changed that. We ended up with a relaxing, rejuvenating holiday in a charming village, well placed for exploring the Ardèche. Mélanie and Romain also gave us invaluable tips on walks and things to do nearby. We had a fantastic stay in a newly renovated cottage. It was peaceful, the heated pool was great, and the value for money was excellent. You can rent e-bikes to explore the nearby villages along the Via Ardèche cycle route. We highly recommend it.
