Le Jardin Secret

I chose Le Jardin Secret in Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val for a July 2025 stay through Booking.com. Soon afterward, the host asked me to cancel there and send a €342 deposit by bank transfer. I asked several times for written terms and cancellation conditions, but none arrived. The reservation was later changed without my consent, and the deposit was not returned. I reported the matter to the local gendarmerie and the DGCCRF for review. The listing and initial messages gave the impression of a welcoming stay, but my experience fell short on transparency and follow-through. Some commitments weren’t met, leaving me unsure I could rely on the booking, so I decided not to stay. I think clearer information and more consistency would help guests feel confident. This is my personal experience, documented and shared in good faith. Thank you for your response. I want to clarify that I repeatedly asked for the cancellation policy or a written document setting out the terms and conditions, and received nothing. I shared this review in good faith. I’ve forwarded the relevant information to the appropriate authorities and don’t wish to continue the discussion here. As Booking.com’s note stated, it processes responses to its email under its Privacy Policy, and the message from Le Jardin Secret was not written by Booking.com, so Booking.com cannot be held responsible for its content. Your “internal regulations of my establishment” never applied to my reservation because you never provided them!

We stayed five days and highly recommend the place. The host and the place have the same welcoming, warm charm as Saint-Antonin itself. Breakfast was generous and made with quality products, with birdsong and a garden view adding something special. It leaves us wanting to come back!

Frédéric was a very attentive host, and the rooms were well cared for. The mirrored display in the breakfast room is entertaining, and we got excellent tips for things to do around this magnificent city. A wonderful find. I highly recommend it. See you soon, Yasmine.

The generous breakfast on the terrace was such a nice start to the day, and the rooms and towels were all very clean with nothing missing. Frédéric was so welcoming and attentive, and his tips for exploring lovely villages, especially Saint-Antonin, were excellent.
