Campanile Saint Avold

The rooms were clean and fine for an overnight stop, and the food was nice. The setup felt like a holiday camp, with chalet-style rooms on the ground, first, or second floor. You pick up your keys at reception, then walk out to the chalets, which isn't much fun in the rain on the way to breakfast. Service was good, and there was a decent variety.

We stayed one night. The room was basic but clean enough, though my friend's smelled like an old ashtray. Breakfast was a joke, with very little choice and no organization. We had to ask for everything, from bowls and cups to cutlery, and nothing was being replenished.

The room and breakfast were okay, but getting to our second-floor room with luggage was a struggle. We arrived at 10 at night during a coach trip, and found there was no lift, only outdoor stairs. I won't use these hotels again.

For a night here, what more do you need? The place was clean and nice, the staff polite and able to speak English okay, and there was plenty of parking. The bed was comfortable, and breakfast was included in the price.
