After Booking.com couldn’t resolve the refund issue, I was left paying for a night I never stayed. The owner had called soon after confirming my one-night April booking to say the apartment wasn’t available and asked me to cancel, promising a full refund. I did as he asked, but only got part of the money back. Then he stopped answering and turned on WhatsApp’s “Disappearing Messages,” so I couldn’t see our conversation history. I found the whole thing extremely shady and unprofessional. The host never confirmed the promised refund to Booking.com, so they couldn’t help. I did nothing wrong and still lost money. I wouldn’t risk booking this place, and the experience has badly shaken my trust in Booking.com too. Guests don’t seem protected in situations like this.

The owner was great about suggesting places to eat and things to see, and we had a wonderful weekend. The apartment’s right in the heart of the old town, and it’s beautifully decorated. We had an amazing stay.

We’ll definitely come back. The room was lovely, everything was spotless, and we were made to feel very welcome. Staying right in the old town made for an incredible romantic weekend. Thanks to the owner and his wife for being so efficient and hospitable.

The studio works well and is nicely decorated, but the constant noise made the stay difficult. From 5:30 am until 2:00 am there are thousands of people passing beneath the only window each day. The terrace, garbage collection, and market all add to it. The place is also very dark, so the lights have to stay on all day. When it’s hot, I’d avoid it: there’s no ventilation or air conditioning. Our contact was rather cold and only communicated in writing, so the welcome didn’t feel warm. It came across clearly as a business. A washing machine would help, and the towels and sheets could be newer. Even with the central location, we can’t recommend it. Surely there are brighter central apartments with a proper bedroom, washing machine, and much quieter rooms.
