L'Arborescence

Just over the border from Geneva Airport in Haut Savoie, this hotel restaurant really impressed us. The food was fantastic, from delicate touches like foam made with local abondance cheese to deeper, richer flavors. The chef makes excellent use of seasonal ingredients, and the leek starter was especially good. Staff at the restaurant and reception were friendly and attentive. The duck breast with confit duck leg and celeriac purée was out of this world. We also loved the creative hazelnut dessert. Children eat the same dishes as adults, just in smaller portions. That worked well for our daughter, though it's worth considering your children's preferences before booking. We've traveled all over France, and I can honestly recommend this restaurant very highly. I expect we'll visit again.

We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and good service during our two-night stay. Dinner was excellent, especially the five-course surprise menu with the suggested wines, which we loved. It's a nice location, with Annecy close enough for a visit.

The people working here were courteous and friendly, and the location is amazing. Our room was cozy and immaculately clean, though the bathroom could do with an update. The gourmet restaurant was tasty, but the prices were high and portions small, which wasn't really our thing. We had a very pleasant stay overall.

We were really disappointed by how cold the experience felt. The servers seemed overly serious, but the professionalism you'd expect from a gastronomic restaurant wasn't there, and nobody smiled. There was no kids' menu. They expected toddlers to eat a gastro plate, and another table of about 10 with four children had nothing for them besides bread. For my birthday, they put a candle in cheese to wish me happy birthday, after clearly forgetting to take my dessert order. Never again, especially at that price.
