Château de Saint-Chartier

I came all the way from the United States, and staying in a castle with a history tied to Richard the Lionhearted was an amazing experience. The thought of sleeping in a room where Lords and Saints had stayed was already thrilling. Then I realized the castle was named for a Saint who shared my surname. I can't claim any connection to the place beyond that coincidence, but the experience itself is hard to put into words. God bless the castle and its owners, and thank you for an unbelievably great stay. Lol. JC

The owner kindly showed us around the whole castle, even though the tour wasn't included in the price. We got to see lots of unique handicrafts and antiques, which was a real treat. Breakfast was excellent and worthy of a castle, and I think visitors will be more than satisfied. The place is a little tucked away, but that's part of its charm since it isn't in a popular spot.

The Bishop's room was ours, and the owner will surely tell you its unusual story. The castle itself is magnificent, with extraordinary rooms, a warm welcome, and a refined homemade breakfast. Everything made for a perfect stay. There is a spiritual, energetic feeling to the place, shaped by its history and the host's own story. The host is a remarkable person who seems to have lived many lives, and meeting him is the kind of encounter you remember for a long time. We'll come back, and maybe even dare to ask the author of this enchanting interlude for an autograph.
