Right by the estuary, the restaurant has a beautiful setting. The food is consistently high quality, the service is good, and the wine list has plenty of choice, including some local gems.

The riverside setting and view are amazing, but I was so disappointed by the food. It seemed to have been cooked well ahead and just warmed up for us. I’m not surprised the place is closed now. Updated: I’m sorry I rated the “room” in your restaurant by mistake, and I’ve corrected that error. I’m not changing my assessment, though, and I’m not trying to defame anyone. I don’t know how you cook these days, but the food was terrible in 2014, and I hope you’ve fixed it. You can’t just reheat a prepared meal and call yourself a good restaurant. I’m sorry I didn’t write this review sooner. Your aggressive reaction to criticism makes it seem like you’ve faced it before and still have work to do.

A superb wine list is a real draw here, and the restaurant is perfectly placed on the estuary in haut Medoc. My husband’s fish was excellent. I had the chicken, which tasted good but was a little overcooked. We each had a glass of rose, just right for the day, after buying 6 bottles of cru bourgeois Haute Medoc in the village on our way there. The staff knew their stuff, though service was a bit slow. We had a long drive back to the Vienne, and I hesitated to ask them to hurry because the meal was clearly meant to be something to Saveur.

We had beautiful views and a relaxing atmosphere at this well-situated B&B. The restaurant was very good, with exquisite food. We’ll definitely go back.
