Jura Hotel

The valley views from the window are beautiful, and the restaurant food is good, though it could use more seasoning at times. From the front the hotel doesn’t look like much, but inside it’s clear they’ve taken care to keep it in good condition. The bedrooms are clean and seem to have been redone in the last couple of years. One odd thing is that the light switches glow bright blue when off, so you need to cover them with things to keep the light from disturbing you. There’s no lift, which was hard for my roommate on crutches, especially with the long stairs to the first floor. At €70 a night it’s good value, and I’d recommend the regional menu at €25. Parking is on the street in front, with no security.

The restaurant was outstanding, and the staff were incredibly accommodating. The rooms were very comfortable, with staggeringly beautiful views from the windows. The location itself is unbelievably beautiful, perched on a cliff overlooking Saint Claude.

The dining hall has beautiful murals, and breakfast was okay, if not the biggest spread. Our bedroom was fantastic, with a roof terrace and incredible views.

The reception staff and hotel manager were great. We had a clean room, a comfortable bed and an excellent location. The continental breakfast had plenty of fruit, which was exceptionally good.
