The area around the campsite is lovely, though it has fewer standout sights than other parts of the southern center. On site, there’s a good balance of things to do, including nice activities for kids, plus a restaurant and bar open when you need them. The owners are really friendly, and it’s a good fit for families with young children.

We left in mid October as the only guests, and it was wonderfully quiet in its rural woodland setting. The owners are delightful, and there are good walks nearby. Showers had plenty of water, and the toilets and washing-up facilities were quite adequate. Bread is available, and they bake croissants on site. It should suit small vans and tents, though larger motor homes may struggle with the steep, bendy track to some pitches. Tres bon! We’ll come back next time we’re in the area.

There’s a lovely stream running alongside the campsite where the children can play, and the whole place is lush and green. Pitches are roomy enough for a tent. The weekly boat race and bread baked over an open fire are great activities. It’s a beautiful countryside spot, and the owners are very pleasant, welcoming, and friendly.

We wanted a lazy breakfast and another swim in the pool, but checkout was at ten, which felt very early. The campsite was basically a noisy Dutch embassy, full of screaming Dutch kids and toddlers. They even ran right through our camping area, which felt so disrespectful. They could have mentioned on the website that it would be crawling with children. Absolutely not suitable if you’re not Dutch or don’t have kids.

The camp restaurant’s food wasn’t good, so I’d look for a local place to eat. The campsite itself is very pretty, but it didn’t feel much like a French experience. I’d suggest staying at one of the campsites along the Le Lot river instead.
