I’m judging this five-star rating by the one-night price and the very nice welcome. Formula one Caen is well maintained, and although they allow dogs, my room was very clean and didn’t smell of smoke. For a value motel, it’s above expectations. Maybe that’s down to the management. People who leave unreserved criticism should try finding a last-minute hotel room in England for more than double the price. Well done to the manager at Formula one Caen, and a well-deserved five stars.

For the little we paid, I couldn’t have asked for much more. It was clean, and the staff were helpful. HotelF1s are basic and usually aren’t in the most desirable locations, but taking that into account, this is a good cheap place to stay. The area is reasonable, with a supermarket next door.

It’s a quiet, clean place, and breakfast is fine. There’s no soap in the room, but from an ecological point of view that’s fair enough, same with the towels. Very good for the price!

The price and quality were all right, but the beds were very uncomfortable, and the showers and toilets were pretty gross. It’s more like a hostel than a hotel. Still, if you just need a night without a big bill, it’s a decent enough place.

A good cheap hotel option. The room was clean, and the toilets and showers were clean too. Staff speak English. There was a little noise from upstairs, but not as much as at other F1 hotels. It’s next to a supermarket, gas station, and restaurants.
