Le Frégate Provence

The views were amazing at every time of day, and the location was the best part of our stay. We spent three nights and had a perfect time. Our standard room was spacious, with a good bed and pillows. Breakfast and the staff there were both great. The housekeeping team did a great job and were very friendly and courteous. Reception could be more open and enthusiastic. At times, they seemed to hide behind the bar instead of looking up or engaging proactively with guests. The spa and pools felt a bit standard, but full access is included in the room price, so that was perfect.

The location is lovely, well situated near Bandol and the surrounding area. Apart from that, the stay was regrettable and not worth the money or the stars. Our experience at Hotel Fregate Provence was deeply disappointing and nowhere near what you’d expect from a 4-star hotel. We were told we could have lunch at the brasserie, but when we arrived the kitchen was already closed. The staff were rude and arrogant, with no apology or solution. Service was simply unacceptable. At the pool there was nowhere to sit and no service available, again not what you’d expect at this price. The hotel overall looked worn and poorly maintained. Our room’s air conditioning didn’t work, and most of the electrical outlets were dead. That’s incredibly frustrating at €300 per night. The location was the only redeeming feature. Definitely not a true 4-star experience.

I stayed at Le Frégate Provence during the ELMS 4 Hours of Le Castellet. The area is beautiful, with vineyards and a golf course. Marie welcomed me warmly and explained how everything at the hotel worked, and the other staff were friendly and helpful too. The restaurant team were kind and made sure my meals were safe for my allergies. My room was very clean and had a lovely view. The hotel took great care of me, and I’m very thankful. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The pool is fantastic when the sun's out, and the food is brilliant once it finally arrives. Our rooms were very good and both had great views. The staff themselves were really good, but the service was badly coordinated when they knew a lot of guests would be there. We were second to sit down in the restaurant and the last to be served. With so many events at the venue, I'd expect better control of the serving order and more staff available. Try the golf club restaurant for lunch and beers 🍻
