Courtyard by Marriott Paris Saint Denis

I stayed five nights for work because of the hotel's convenient location, and I'd use it again for future work trips. For the price, the room and bedding quality were a very pleasant surprise. The team were lovely and accommodating from check-in through checkout. It exceeded my expectations.

The people really made the difference. I was very happy with my three-night visit, and Amadine at reception was excellent. The place was quiet, clean, safe, and well kept. A very satisfied Titanium member, and I'd easily recommend it.

The street “view” meant traffic noise from very early in the morning, and the cold room was worse: the AC didn't work at all. When I called the front desk, they kept telling me to wait 10minutes. After three hours, they finally said it wasn't adjustable. With snowing outside, that was no comfort. They also charged my city tax twice. I emailed about getting it returned and was ignored for a week. I called and asked them to review it, and they promised to check, but nothing came of it. Marriott customer service eventually gave me an arrogant reply telling me to wait for my credit card to post, even though I'd attached a posted card bill. There was no basic respect or effort to help. Don't let this place ruin your Paris trip, however cheap it is. Avoid!

The staff were friendly, breakfast was good, and I don't really have complaints. The hotel is clean, quiet, and inexpensive, but there's nothing particularly notable about it. Despite the name, it's a long way from Paris: the train took about an hour to reach the city, and there wasn't much to do or see in Saint Denis.
