Hôtel L'Escale Coté Port

I won't recommend this hotel. The staff were rude and arrogant, and I didn't feel they understood hospitality. At 7:45 PM on 7/07, when check-in closed at 8 PM, I booked a room. I mixed up the date and reserved 7/8.07 instead of 8/9.07. The hotel called, and I realized my mistake. I immediately tried to change the dates, but there was no availability, and then tried to cancel. The Booking assistants tried to help me get a refund or move the booking to another date. I contacted the hotel as well, asking for a refund or the option to stay on the following days. They refused all the options and told me, falsely, that they had lost a client, even though I booked in the last 15 minutes of their working day. They also claimed it was Booking that wouldn't refund me, despite refusing three requests. It felt like they just wanted easy money without any effort. Well, they got it. I hope those euros bring them joy and happiness.

We got a cheap room, and it was nice, with even a kitchen in it. Still, it faced a construction site, and the noise was very loud even with the windows shut. They should have mentioned that when we asked for a room. Otherwise, it's a good hotel, so the noise is why I give it only three stars.

For our week in L'Ile Rousse, this was a fantastic place to stay. Uli at the front desk was always helpful and knew a lot of local places and contacts. Our comfortable room was spotless, and the shower was great. We enjoyed the breakfasts too. The only small thing missing was a kettle or coffee and tea setup in the room. We'd happily stay again.

The place is modern and clean, and the staff are friendly. But despite the website saying the rooms are soundproof, we heard heavy machinery throughout both day and night. The accommodation itself is nice.
