ibis Styles Saint Dizier

We only stayed one night while passing through, fortunately, because it was too noisy. The thin windows face the street, so we heard cars all night. The door barely blocks sound either, and we could hear guests coming and going throughout the night.

The hotel staff were very nice and tried to accommodate me, eventually managing to change my room. But the place is falling apart and really needs a refurbishment. Room 204 smelled absolutely terrible when I stayed there before, and this time room 206 also smelled bad, like a septic tank. I'd avoid rooms 202, 204, and 206. The owners need to sort this out and can't keep treating customers like idiots. The television didn't work in the room I was moved to. I don't understand how the ACCOR group can keep this as a franchise hotel when it's no longer up to standard. It feels like the owners are just cashing in without making any effort to renovate.

I usually trust Ibis as my go-to when I can, and Saint-Dizier didn't disappoint. The bed was very comfortable, hygiene was good, and my room at the back of the building was quiet. Breakfast was very good too. My only complaint is the glass shower cubicle wasn't fitted properly, leaving a gap by the door that made the floor very wet whenever I showered. Apart from that, all good.

The bathroom was dirty, with other people's hairs, and there was lots of dust on the room walls and in the curtains. Breakfast was poor: there was no bread, and no cheese either, even after I asked for some. The orange juice machine wasn't working properly, and the staff weren't kind. Too bad.
