Chateau de Cadouzan

We spent three nights in a spacious room with lovely decor, and had a very good breakfast. The owner was always available and welcomed us warmly. He bought the run-down castle around ten years ago and has been turning it into a pleasant place to stay, often doing the work himself. The room had comfortable bedding and a large bathroom, and there were art books throughout the house. We could also use the family lounge. It's tucked away in quiet countryside, though La Roche-Bernard is only a few kilometers away. There are two accommodations here. A nice place to recharge, read in the garden, and take your time.

The owner was very kind and welcoming, and the room was comfortable, spacious, and spotless. The castle is split between the owners' part and the guest section, out in the Breton countryside, so it's quite secluded and wonderfully quiet. I found the bedroom and bathroom beautiful, and the wood stove in the fireplace made the stay feel relaxing. The price didn't seem to match the accommodation, though. There's no Wi-Fi, and although breakfast was fairly plentiful, it was disappointing for the setting: nothing homemade, no savory choices, and no fruit.

The owner is engaging and very kind, and the place itself is magnificent, full of history and a little magical. I'd recommend it for a visit or just a stay.

We had an incredible welcome and an unforgettable stay in a magnificent castle. The meal was divine, and we really appreciated the hosts' kindness and hospitality. We'll be very happy to return.
