Closerie de Chambord

We celebrated my birthday here with a group and had an exceptional weekend. The owners were welcoming and quick to respond, and the facilities were spotless. It’s a peaceful place to relax, with plenty of space, comfort and equipment for a get-together. Everyone left happy, and we’d gladly return. Highly recommend it.

There were 10 adults, 9 children and a dog in our group, but the spacious gîte gave everyone room to do their own thing. The bedrooms are huge and each has its own bathroom, which made things easy. People enjoyed the heated pool, jacuzzi and pétanque court in their own ways. It’s right by the Loire in a picturesque village, with a bakery close by and friendly riverside cafes. Special mention to the owners of Le Domino for being so welcoming and giving us excellent advice. We also had a lovely walk to Château de Chambord, just 5 km away. We had a wonderful week and don’t regret it at all. The hosts were so welcoming, and we highly recommend the place.

Our 5-year-old great-granddaughter called it Sleeping Beauty’s castle, and she knows a thing or two about that. It really is a magnificent place. We were looking for a large gîte for a family reunion of 20, and La Closerie was exactly right. There’s a lovely outdoor area with a pool and jacuzzi, and inside the bedrooms are spacious and individually decorated rather than dormitories. There are plenty of bathrooms and toilets, which is so useful with a big group. The kitchen has all the appliances, utensils and dishes we needed. A cot, high chair, bathtub and baby monitor are available too. Before arrival, we received a very complete, practical welcome booklet explaining how everything works. The owners were friendly, attentive and available. Don’t hesitate to step through the gates, you won’t be disappointed.

We were a group of 16, eight couples, gathering for a weekend with friends from all over France. Flore gave us a very warm welcome. The rooms were pleasant and all had en-suite bathrooms, and the place was well equipped. It’s ideally placed for trips to Chambord and Blois. We highly recommend it.
