The second-floor views over the square were great, and opening the windows quickly cleared the musty, damp smell. Everything else we needed was there, and it's a great spot close to the square. We stayed up an ancient spiral staircase made of stone and then wood. I'd recommend it only if you're comfortable with stairs and the steep hill to reach the place. Tea drinkers like us really missed having milk in the fridge.

We should have booked more nights. This was one of the most beautiful apartments we've stayed in, and the location was great. The host was friendly, and getting the keys was very easy. Parking took a little figuring out, but once we knew where to go it was fine, and free. We can't recommend the place enough.

The apartment's on the third floor, with good equipment, a spacious bathroom with a tub, and a lovely view of the tower. Getting in was easy, just pick up the keys from the box, and the staff were very friendly on the phone. You can park in the city or use a large lot about a five-minute walk away. I can only recommend it 👍🙂

Once you know where the apartment is, it's a great location. It has a full kitchen and a medium-sized fridge with room for wine, and we enjoyed our stay. Just make sure you arrange to meet the host or collect the keys ahead of time. We arrived expecting a hotel and had our luggage with nowhere to leave it. In St. Emilion, carrying bags around is rough because the hills are steep and there aren't many smooth roads. That's part of the town's charm, but it makes getting around difficult. Luckily, the girl at the wine shop beside the apartments kept our bags for the day while we visited the town and local wineries. The top floor we had was three stories up, which wasn't easy with a large, heavy bag. If there are other options, ask for a lower room if you're bringing heavy luggage. I learned that the hard way, and Simon had trouble with the sloping roof too. He bumped his head a few times, and some parts of the room are hard to walk through without stooping. Lesson learned, pack lighter!
