La Maison du Clocher

We spent two nights getting to know Saint Emilion, a wonderful little town, and would choose La Maison du Clocher again if we return. Caroline was incredibly helpful with dinner ideas and reservations, and arranged a delicious charcuterie board for us at very short notice. The inn felt beautiful, warm and welcoming; our room was comfortable and bigger than expected. We especially loved the back terrace, where we sat several times for a relaxing break from vacation activities. The location is right in town on a quiet street.

The room was very comfortable and much bigger than the one we had in Paris. Caroline also went out of her way to accommodate our check-in and hold our luggage so we could enjoy the day. She and Lacey, who served breakfast, were wonderful and gave us information that helped with dinner reservations and booking activities. St. Emilion is magical. I just wish we'd planned to stay longer.

Caroline was the nicest person I've ever met. She also had great vineyard recommendations. The guest house has modern comforts in a city that otherwise feels medieval.

Caroline made us feel at home straight away, and was incredibly kind, friendly and helpful. Lucie was charming too, and we're grateful to them both for making our three-night stay memorable. The four-room guest house is in a beautiful house right in the center of Saint-Emilion. Rooms are a good size, with large, very comfortable beds, and each has air conditioning, much appreciated during the heat wave. It's peaceful, and the decor throughout, along with the sitting room, dining area and kitchen, makes you want to linger. Breakfast was perfect. The only small space in the house is the stairs. We'd return without hesitation.
