For us, the best test of a place is whether we'd want to return, and we'd gladly enjoy Claire and Philippe's hospitality again. I visited from California with my lover, her daughter, and her spouse, and we found Gite du Moulin de la Croix a comfortable, peaceful base after days out. The house is spacious enough for a family, a small group, or one person. It has four bedrooms, each with its own shower and bathroom, and the kitchen was stocked with what we needed to cook and save money. Eating outside was especially nice, with the bamboo grove adding to the atmosphere. There are many nearby places to explore: St. Remy, Arles, Avignon, Aix en Provence, and charming villages are a short drive away. Les Baux is a Do Not Miss. The Alpilles fill the landscape with hiking trails and wide views. Cyclists can enjoy the countryside scenery, and wine lovers could spend days visiting wineries. Dalmeran Winery is an easy walk from the house.
