ResidHotel Saint Etienne Centre

The location suited my needs, and the staff were polite, friendly, and helpful. I booked knowing what to expect and only needed somewhere to sleep for a few nights. The room was clean and tidy, though dated and badly in need of paint. It got a bit loud at night, and the shower felt small for me at 6 foot with a medium build. Still, it was a positive stay.

Having a kitchenette and sofa was handy, the beds were comfortable, and public parking was very convenient. The hotel is well located, and the staff were very helpful and spoke English. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back.

The reception staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, even booking taxis and helping us with other things. The price was really good, and I'd gladly stay again. We were three friends in our late 50s, visiting the city in March 2023, and each of us had a studio. There was plenty of space and the studio had all the useful basics: a fridge, kitchen utensils, kettle, coffee machine, and microwave. The wide bed was a little hard but perfectly fine. The place could use some paint, though it had what we needed. I was missing a bathroom mat and some kitchen paper or a dishcloth. I heard my friends had received a mat. There were groups of schoolchildren at the hotel who could be a bit loud, and a few other guests made noise in the corridor. In general, though, it was fine.

One of my best stays in France, maybe the best, during my travels in spring 2016. The room had a nice kitchenette and good amenities, and the staff were helpful. I can't really complain. The picture shows the view north from the room.
