Hôtel SOLE E MARE

The location has plenty going for it: there's a beach across the street, plus a supermarket and bakery next door. But the road between the hotel and beach is busy. Our room was on the ground floor, right by the main hotel walkway, so there was very little privacy. People passed the door and bedroom all the time, and we could hear the cleaning staff going by all afternoon as they worked on the other rooms. The hotel was quite expensive for somewhere so basic, and I wouldn't recommend it for a long stay. We stayed three nights, which was enough. The room was cleaned every day. The bed is only 140cm, really small for two people, and there was nowhere to dry swimsuits or beach towels. There is a small outdoor area in front of the room.

It's a good base for families or solo travelers, with parking, excellent cleanliness, and courteous service. The double rooms are small but have everything you need. Wi-Fi only works outside by reception, not in the rooms. The old town center is far away, as you can see on the map, so you'll need a car if you want to go into town. The location is perfect for visiting Nonza.

The kind, welcoming husband and wife team made us feel part of a family and community, which is rare. Our room was kept clean and tidy every day, with fresh towels. There's no kitchen, but an in-room kettle, tea bags, and herbal teas made breakfast possible. Each morning we bought breakfast at the excellent bakery and pastry shop nearby, then ate at our own table just outside the room. The setting is fabulous: cross the street and you're by the crystal-clear sea, with a fruit shop, pizzeria, and a local food truck serving truly excellent sushi nearby. Saint-Florent center is an easy 15-minute walk along the seafront. A fabulous experience, 10/10, highly recommended!

The owners were friendly and gave us all the information we needed for our stay and for exploring the area. Our room was spotless, cleaned every morning. The bed was comfortable, though a bit narrow since it's French size. There was a bottle of herbal tea in the room. Outside, there was a real Dina where we could have breakfast or read, or we could use the shared outdoor lounge. A few meters away, there's a shop with food and seafood necessities, and next door is a bakery and pastry shop that also serves coffee. Parking is in the property's garden, the sea is right in front, and the promenade is great for a morning run.
