For what it costs, I expected basic comfort, but the room wouldn’t lock, the bedding was stained, and there was no electrical outlet in the bathroom. The shared areas also needed better upkeep. The road sign could only be seen from one direction, with weeds hiding it from the other. The service was very disappointing, and this felt like a manor in name only. With a WONDERBOX, the night was priced at €150, then half the box was deducted, leaving €100 to pay. Very disappointed. I don’t recommend it.

The place was clean, practical, and well set up for our group of around ten teenagers and two leaders. We stayed one night during a mini-break in Honfleur, using the two adjoining parts of the manor, a duplex for the girls and another for the boys. We all had a friendly, fun time. The hosts were welcoming and attentive, even helping when we were short a saucepan for cooking for everyone. We came by train and had a bit of a walk to find the cottage, so I’d suggest coming by car, although buses run during the day. A very belated thank you for the lovely welcome!

I reserved a night at the end of July with a Wonderbox voucher in mid-June. The owner took my details and asked me to call again in July to check whether he’d be open that summer. When I called today, he looked at his calendar and said he would be open, but my reservation could only be kept if I paid extra. His explanation wasn’t very clear. I can only imagine direct bookings were more profitable, and that otherwise I wouldn’t have heard back. Everyone can make up their own mind.

I booked by phone, but as soon as I mentioned paying with a Wonderbox voucher, their attitude changed and they asked for extra money. This person is dishonest. Why be a Wonderbox partner if they’re going to treat customers like that? Avoid them!
