Villa René

We had a clean, well-organized place with a fully equipped kitchen, so we could cook for ourselves. Breakfast was included too, nothing extravagant, but perfectly fine. The owners were helpful whenever we needed anything, and the surroundings are great if you like being active outdoors. We stayed three nights over Easter 2023. Everything met expectations, and I hope we can come back.

The meals were excellent, all homemade with fresh ingredients. Marie and Denis were attentive and very welcoming, and the apartment was clean and thoughtfully designed. The house, its location and the amenities were all excellent. I highly recommend staying here.

Villa René made a peaceful base for our August visit to the beautiful Pyrénées-Orientales region of Occitanie. It was ideally placed for outings to the Côte Vermeille and the Spanish Costa Brava, and Marie and Denis looked after us with real warmth and care. We spent about ten days hiking, seeing the area and enjoying the seaside. Our rental was spacious, comfortable and well equipped, so we could enjoy an independent stay. The setting was elegant and beautiful, with a lovely private pool. On a few evenings we chose the set menu dinner, which let us get to know Marie and Denis, try their delicious cooking and fresh local produce, and enjoy a very pleasant evening together. The owners gave us a very pleasant welcome. It was quiet and relaxing, but still an easy drive to everything we needed. The apartment was superb and breakfast excellent. I couldn't eat at the table d'hôtes, but the hosts were so friendly and hospitable that I'd still recommend it. A lovely stay in a magnificent setting, for about what you'd pay for a room in a hotel chain. I'd happily come back.
