Happy House

Christophe, Alexandra and their daughter Julie made us feel very welcome and were endlessly helpful with local tips and making sure our stay went well. The hotel is family-run at the town end of Saint George de Didonne, facing the beautiful beach and only a two-minute walk from the town centre. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. We missed Christophe's cooking because the restaurant was closed for holidays, but we'll be back to try it.

The food was top quality and carefully prepared, from starters through to dessert. Our two waiters were lovely, professional, and gave us top service. A real pleasure, highly recommended!

Breakfast was delicious and fresh, with everything we needed, and better than at some higher-rated hotels. The room was charming, very clean and small but thoughtfully laid out. Little extras made a difference: a welcome tray, bottled water, a hairdryer and tissues. The hotel is close to the sea but very quiet, and parking is free right outside. We used to stay only at Logis hotels, sometimes with disappointing stays despite the higher prices. This little hotel makes a real difference and will be our regular place whenever we're in the area. Thanks, Virginie, for such a warm, enthusiastic welcome.

The welcome started warmly over the phone when I booked, and was confirmed when we arrived. The room was perfect and very clean, and the owner is absolutely kind. The place is 50 meters from the beach. My only complaint is that there aren't enough stars to give it more, because everything is so perfect.
