Breakfast may have been the best part: fresh, delicious food at a very fair price, with quality and value better than anywhere else in my travels around the world. I wish I could eat here every day, or have the chef send me breakfast wherever I happen to be. The hospitality was just as memorable. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed home. The hotel is in the quiet town of Flagey Echezeaux, which makes getting around Burgundy remarkably easy. The room is excellent value by French standards, and the place is quiet, comfortable, safe, and very pleasant. As long as Madame Gouges is the proprietor, this will be my go-to hotel in Burgundy. It feels like one of Europe's great secrets. Part of me wants everyone to know about it, and part of me wants to keep it to myself.

Everything we needed was there. The room was spacious and very clean, and the hotel was quiet in its small village.
