The breakfasts changed every day, and each one was a joy, made up of lots of little things prepared with care. Alexandra is a brilliant cook, knows the area well, and was happy to offer advice. Most of the food is locally sourced, with quality clearly a priority. For dinner you'll need to go out, but Alexandra has a long list of restaurants she's tried and trusts. We went to four, and all were good. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed, with a lovely river view to wake up to. The owners, who took over in early 2021, have decorated the rooms beautifully. We had a look into most of them. Set beside the River Cher, the former mill has pleasant walking paths on both banks. Its grounds are large and peaceful, with outdoor furniture tucked among the trees and shrubs, plus a heated outdoor pool for anyone feeling energetic. There's ample off-road parking for guests. The three-storey building still has its mill wheel inside. It stopped working in 1963 after some 90 years of labor, which makes for an interesting feature. It's a short drive to beautiful Chenonceau chateau, a must-see, and the wider area has more magnificent chateaux, lovely countryside, and some nice small towns. My partner and I stayed three nights and wished we'd booked longer. I can't think of a better place I've stayed, and hope to return. I have no hesitation giving this charming guesthouse 5/5. These are my honest views, and I highly recommend it.

We booked one night during a motorcycle trip, then stayed two more because we liked it so much. The rooms are spacious, the location is great, and the homemade breakfast was wonderful. Above all, Alexandra was kind, attentive, and full of helpful advice for seeing the area. A solid 10/10, highly recommended if you're nearby.

The rooms are clean and spacious, and the breakfast was really nice, with homemade jams and pastries as well as local cheese. It's a modest place run by a very charming woman whose kindness feels genuine. The decor isn't to my taste at all, but that didn't take away a star for me. It's in a good spot by the River Chere. The old mill wheel is still there and visible. If you're touring the castles, you can walk from the house along the river straight to Chenonceau castle, an amazing part of French history and the most visited monument in France.

Everything was perfect, and the host couldn't have been kinder. We had a wonderful stay and hope to come back. Merci beaucoup.
