Chateau de l'Epinay

We needed a quiet rest day after our cycling trip before heading to Paris, and this was just right. The hotel is charming, with beautiful grounds, friendly service, and amazing food at the restaurant. I'd definitely recommend it for a peaceful stay.

I stayed at Chateau L’Epinay for a wedding, and the place felt truly unique and magical. The staff were warm and welcoming, and English was spoken throughout. It’s tucked away from the main road, yet the nearby small town and grocery are convenient. The grounds are so spacious and varied that I could easily spend a week exploring all the different views and little delights. The restaurant was excellent too.

The restaurant was a highlight on my second stay: the food was delicious and the service there was of a very high standard. The hotel is beautiful and well maintained, with a special natural pool. We also enjoyed the tennis court, bicycles and pétanque. This time we stayed in the castle itself. I didn't like having the shower in the bedroom, since it made the room feel a bit humid and damp. Next time I'd pick another room. I actually preferred the larger bedroom in the outbuilding from my last visit, which had a separate bathroom. The main downside this time was other guests, especially their children. I know that wasn't the hotel's fault, but I wish staff had stepped in sooner. Young children spent about an hour playing in the jacuzzi, which had to be booked, switching it on and off, playing with the water jets and screaming. It wasn't relaxing for everyone else by the pool. Checkout could be better too. One person at the desk was handling a large group, so it took a long time to get checked out.

The rooms are quaint and each one has its own character, and the food is excellent. The staff and service were wonderful, going above and beyond to make the stay memorable. It's such a lovely little slice of paradise in a majestic setting. We can't wait to go back, and highly recommend staying here.
