La Halte de Segondignac

We had to find somewhere to stay at the last minute, and Claudie welcomed us into her gîte for two nights. The room was practical and just right, with a fan and mosquito net that suited this time of year, and the price was unbeatable. The place is lovely and near lots of points of interest. Claudie is pleasant and welcoming, and speaks with a frankness that's rare these days. The only downside was that she was fully booked, so we couldn't stay for the rest of our trip. I'd happily book here again if I'm back in the area, and highly recommend it.

We’d be happy to come back. The room was cozy and nicely furnished, and breakfast was very good too. We were looked after wonderfully. Nobody speaks English, so communication was a little difficult, but Google Translate made it manageable. Thanks for the hospitality, it’s a lovely place to stay.

My husband stayed in the room while I went out for the day, and the landlady apparently thought we had both left. He overheard her complaining about us to the new arrivals, saying our children were too noisy, even though our youngest was only a month old. They threatened to kill our son if he cried again during the night. My husband is kind, luckily for the landlady, because I was going to file a complaint.

Claudie is so warm and pleasant, and knows all about the region and its surrounding nature. She’s a truly excellent host. If you get the chance, I highly recommend trying her cooking :)
