Hotel Crocus Caen Memorial

We enjoyed our night here and would consider staying again on future trips. Our family room was large, clean, and had everything we needed, with one double bed and two single beds. The shared corridors and stairs looked a bit shabby and grubby, though it didn't bother us since our own home isn't spotless either. Everyone on staff was brilliant and patient with our attempts to speak the language. The menu was limited, but had enough familiar options, and food and drinks were reasonably priced. Free parking is available on site.

Breakfast was good, with a few different options. The room was comfortable and the location convenient. There wasn't a kettle in the room, but reception were happy to get hot water from the bar area.

This was our second stay, and it was just as good as the first. We were welcomed warmly at reception, and the staff were very helpful. We'd definitely stay here again.

The staff were nice and polite, which is why I'd give it two stars. We'd stayed at several hotels in France, and this was easily the worst, despite not being the cheapest. The food was lousy, and the room felt sad, with a lot of road noise. The bed was poor too, just two single beds that kept sliding apart.
