I nearly laughed myself to death reading the restaurant’s website description. It calls “prawn salad with mandarins” a local discovery, and even puts risotto under “local specialties”! Maybe tectonic plates have shifted Italy closer to the Combrailles region. I’d also love to know which river the prawns come from, and where Auvergne mandarins grow, global warming notwithstanding...

The food was simple and reasonably priced. Truffade was €15 at lunch and €19 in the evening, and it was very good.

What a disappointment. The room was very basic and far too expensive, with no soundproofing, and the mediocre meal and breakfast made the stay worse. Nothing was homemade. Being listed with Logi Hotels should guarantee quality...

I only had the Saint-Nectaire dinner, with potato, bacon, and Saint-Nectaire cheese. It was much too greasy and salty, and there was no green salad or country ham. You were alone in the dining room, with three drunks out on the sidewalk. Also, learn your French: there were spelling mistakes everywhere.
