Hôtel Le Coeur des Neiges

There are cafes and restaurants all around, and the gondola is under a ten-minute walk away. The room was comfortable, and the hotel has lots of lovely details. We also got a warm welcome. Superb, highly recommend.

The balcony view is spectacular, and the beds are extremely comfortable. Everything is within walking distance from this beautiful little boutique hotel, tucked just off the main street beside the church. The supermarket, restaurants, ski shops, and shuttle bus are only a minute or two away. I loved all the details, from the entrance and open fire to the ski gear drying room. I can’t recommend it enough. If only it had a lift, it would be five stars.

For a building dating from 1901, this hotel is in remarkably good condition and works well, with modern comforts such as free WiFi. We found the room spotless, with a kettle, complimentary water and tea, two heaters, a fairly spacious bathroom with a shower, and a very large, comfortable bed. The surroundings were cosy and quiet enough that my partner and I slept like babies. One window had wooden shutters; the other had curtains that still let in about 10% of the light. We came during the lowest season and expected breakfast might be a bit sparse, but Sébastien made sure we got to try local products, including fantastic jams and cheeses, and even made scrambled eggs. My partner also had a massage and treatments at the hotel and was enthusiastic about them. I chose this family-run place over the large hotels in Chamonix to share a glimpse of my childhood memories with my partner, and couldn’t be happier with that choice. Sébastien runs it with care and attention to detail. On arrival, he noticed our large luggage, helped carry everything upstairs, and offered us a better-suited room with a view of the charming street. He also gave us great local advice about activities, the weather, and how best to enjoy this time of year. Absolutely recommended.

This family-run hotel has a real, welcoming feel and the personal service is warm and high quality. It was hard to leave, especially after staying in chain hotels. I used Hotel Coeur des Neiges as my base camp for several days while summitting Mont Blanc and other nearby peaks. Breakfast was very good too, with quality choices, good coffee, a cosy atmosphere, and mountain views. After long walks carrying heavy backpacks, I tried their sports massages and my legs and back felt revived. Françoise knows exactly what to do to get you back in shape. It might hurt a bit on the spot if your legs are sore, but you’ll thank her the next day. I ended up booking three different massages. Each time, Françoise suggested the one that best suited my body and energy levels at the time. They’re easy to book, and I’d recommend them completely. I’d stay here again without a doubt if I return to St Gervais.
