La Taverne De L'escuelle made our visit to Sain Guilhem le Desert even more charming. Our family of four had two adjoining double rooms on the top floor of the old historic building. They were clean, nicely updated, each had an ensuite bathroom, and there were fans. The town was still quiet in the morning, so we slept in a bit and then had a hearty breakfast downstairs in the restaurant. It was simple and just right before a day exploring this beautiful part of France. The hotel was accommodating, and we'd definitely recommend it.

We had a lovely meal and excellent service at La Taverne de L'Escuelle, which made an already beautiful visit even better. Saint Guilhem-le-Desert is well worth seeing for its pretty streets and little boutique shops. I can't recommend the restaurant enough.

We were given two stylish, clean rooms in a fantastic spot in the village. There was no hot water when we arrived, but in the very hot weather cold showers weren't too bad. The owners apologized and kindly offered us a discount and some wine. There are fans but no air conditioning, so keep that in mind if coming in August.

I came back after trying this restaurant in 2022, when I'd had a good experience. This visit was disappointing. Prices had gone up dramatically, while both the food and service had dropped a lot in quality. The guardian de taureau was mostly broth, with hardly any meat; the vegetables seemed to have been added later and lacked the taste they'd get from cooking in the sauce. The tartiflette was okay, but whole potatoes made the texture and meal less enjoyable. The crêpes were okay too, though a little soggy. At these prices, the quality should be much higher.

We struck gold with this cute little restaurant. The service was friendly, the value was good, and my salad was enormous. I'd absolutely go back next time we're passing through.
