La vallée de Gaïa

The Cévennes were a pleasure to explore, and we got to see Saint-Hilaire, Saint-Michel-de-Dèze, Florac and other places we hadn't known before. We already knew the northern part of Lozère, so it was nice to discover this area. We were there for just three nights, but Stéphanie and Rodrigo made us feel very welcome. It was easy to chat with them and the other couples staying there. Mornings were so peaceful, with fresh bread and brioches straight from the oven at breakfast. Dinner was a treat every time too. The hostess of the Valley really knows how to welcome people and make delicious meals. A stay full of peace, nature and rest.

We had a good meal, and the room was charming and thoughtfully equipped. It was good value for the price. We also enjoyed spending time with the family's two children, and Stéphanie was very helpful.

The room was clean and cozy, and the views from its window were breathtaking. There are fantastic walks nearby, and the setting is wonderfully peaceful. The hosts were lovely and attentive, with the children and dogs part of the welcome too. Stéphanie is an amazing cook. We'll cherish the stay for a long time and hope to come back soon.

Bird droppings were all over the dining area, including right where we ate, and breakfast wasn't appetizing, with only items that had already been opened. At the price I paid, I expected better. That sort of breakfast might be understandable at a budget hostel, but this felt like a basic pilgrim hostel charging hotel prices. There was no internet in the room, and not being able to pay by card was a real inconvenience. It didn't feel like good value for money. The host was very friendly, which makes this hard to write, but that's how my stay went. I hope this helps future guests.
