The staff were what made this place stand out, especially Itzga at the front desk, who was delightful and helpful. We ended up extending our stay twice and still hated to leave. After seven weeks driving around Western Europe, we thought Hotel Donibane and its attached restaurant were the best of our trip. The gardens and terrace were relaxing and well kept, and the pool was clean and heated. We’d happily return if we make it back to Southern France.

After a miserable 12-hour drive from St Malo through heavy snow, with only one lane safe to use, we arrived to a really warm welcome. We got there at 2033, even though restaurants normally close at 2100. Reception let the kitchen know, and after a quick stop in our room we had a delicious meal. The friendly staff were just what we needed after that rotten journey.

Everything was really super. This is the best Ibis Styles I’ve visited. Special thanks to Idske and Jean-Charles. The manager is a very friendly woman, and she loves dogs.

We stopped here to split up a long drive and hadn’t expected much, but ended up really enjoying our stay. We stayed at the hotel for dinner instead of going into town, and the food was excellent. Service was great and everyone was very friendly. The pool area was a lovely place to take a break. We’d stay here again.

The restaurant had a garden dining area, which suited us well with our dog. The food was a little above average and had some unusual touches, like crisps with mashed swede, but it tasted good. We could have eaten inside or out. The wine list showed the wine at 16€, but it was marked down to 16€ and I was charged 20€, which was disappointing. I also ordered cognac with my coffee, but after asking three different people and still not getting it, I gave up. Our room was a little small, though the bed was very comfortable. Check-in was quick and efficient, and the receptionist made us feel valued and even showed us to the room. It’s been a long time since I’d had that kind of welcome. The hotel restaurant itself was very good.
