Hôtel Restaurant du Nord

The rooms are simple, but clean, quiet, and comfortable, and the bar next door, which is part of the hotel, is a nice place to unwind after a day out. This was my second cycling holiday here. Valerie, her husband, and the team run a lovely hotel, and we found the half-board stay to be fantastic value when we settled the bill. We had the fixed-price half-board meal with no choice, and were delighted by the food every night. We also paid extra for the cheese course, with a selection I'd expect to find only at an exceptional restaurant in the UK. The food here was so far better than any other meal we had in France on this trip. We tried the house wines by the carafe and several from the wine list. All were great and good value. We still have a few 'Cols' to climb nearby, so we'll be back.

The food was amazing, and Philippe is a superb chef whose dishes were absolutely incredible. Valerie, Chloe, Jovanna, and all the staff were awesome and the service was excellent. I loved this place. My only suggestion would be outdoor seating so guests can enjoy the fantastic view from the hotel. Highly recommend Hotel du Nord!

The beds were amazing, and the rooms were just what you'd expect. I had a short stay, but would still recommend this place to anyone looking for a B&B in the area. The buffet is pretty basic, and when the hotel gets busy it may not be enough. Since nobody else was staying there when we visited, it worked fine for us.

I came by bike, and the Tour de France decorations made me feel right away that this was the place for me. The owners are very kind and helpful, Valerie speaks several languages, and the food is simply superb. The spacious rooms are cozy and very clean. It feels like a home away from home, not just a hotel. If you're going to St. Jean du Maurienne, stay at Hotel du Nord.
