The room had plenty of light, good power sockets, a spacious Queen-size bed with an excellent mattress, and a coffee and tea machine. There’s ample cupboard space, though the shelving could use renovation. Breakfast is a generous buffet, with a proper ground coffee machine, and there’s also a tiny fitness room. The pool adds value, even if some guests call it small. I’ve seen much worse. The restaurant serves inventive gourmet food and has received a Gault Millau award. The hotel works with Logis de France, which expects quality, especially with food. The welcome and service deserve all the stars.

The beds were comfortable, and the hotel and pool were clean. The pool itself was nice, although the jacuzzi felt a bit too small. It’s about a 20-minute walk, or 2 KM, from the beach. We also didn’t get the rooms we had originally booked. It took speaking with a manager and making a scene before we got what we’d paid for, which was unpleasant. On an earlier phone call, they’d said the hotel was really close to the beach, but that wasn’t true.

I always come here when I’m in St Jean De Monts. There’s a good choice of food and the staff are great. My dessert was amazing. I was enjoying it too much to take photos.

The accommodation was clean but very basic, and it’s a long walk to the other facilities in the tourist part of St Jean. I assume the pool is what gets the hotel its official 3-star rating, though I doubt anyone would stay in it for more than a few minutes. There’s no proper bike parking either, despite the 'Aqueil Velo' designation.
