B&B HOTEL Montpellier (2)

Stayed 30/10/2021, room 49. After a good stay at the B&B Hotel in Aachen, Germany, we tried this one for a night in Montpellier. We paid 70 euros, and B&B Hotels should be ashamed to charge that for this room. I have photos to back up what I'm saying. The worst part was the filthy, stained carpet, and the air conditioning vents were so grimy it looked like the unit came from a rubbish dump. The sheets at least looked clean, though I didn't check them with a UV light. The bathroom seemed to belong in the 1940s, and if you're tall you may have to crouch to shower. The drinks machine in reception wasn't working either. We wouldn't normally have stayed there, but after driving 1000 km it was nearly midnight, the rain was torrential, and finding another room wasn't realistic. Reception was closed, so we couldn't speak to anyone about the room; we got the code from a machine at the entrance. The so-called “Free and closed B&B car park” didn't feel secure. Its gate stayed open all night, and, given the people I saw hanging around, it didn't seem like the safest place to leave a car. Breakfast was very basic, but it was the least of my worries. A woman on the ground floor seemed to be running a little business, though I may have got the wrong impression.
