What a great stay! The private room was lovely, with a stunning balcony view and garden. Our host, "Pancho", was so helpful and saved us a lot of hassle. Trust the man and do what he tells you! We had a good laugh too. A nice host makes the stay so much more worthwhile. I'd 100% stay again.

So lovely. The owner was really nice, the rooms were comfortable, and the privacy curtains and chargers were a great extra. Everything was very clean, and breakfast was great. I'd definitely stay again!

The garden has several chairs outside and a stunning view of the Mountains. The hostel was clean and simply amazing, and I slept pretty well. My bed had curtains for privacy. Leon, the hospitalero, was extremely friendly, answered all my questions and helped me with organization stuff. Breakfast was amazing too, with croissants, different cereals, coffee, tea and more. I've seen other albergues on the camino serve only a piece of toast and cold coffee, so this was a treat. An absolute recommendation for my first stop at gite makila on the camino in saint jean.

Five of us hiking the Le Puy route spent a night at la Makila. The welcome was excellent, and the hostel was modern and well organized. Our room and the bathroom were very clean and comfortable, and breakfast was outstanding. Don't miss it if you're in St Jean!

A great place to set off on the camino. The host is kind and helpful, the rooms are clean and very comfortable, and the showers are good. The location is hard to beat, right by the pilgrim office, a hiking store and the express bourricot office. There's also a garden with mountain views and a nice communal area.
